With the resumption of full-scale hostilities in the New Russia influx of Russian volunteers is increasing. However, since the beginning of this year the situation on the border and at the front has changed dramatically. The border drawn by Russian security services under full control, and the requirements for the volunteers who come into the militia, increased significantly. If at the beginning of the uprising in the Donbas was a critical number of fighters, now more important than their physical combat and professional qualities.
In June last year, I wrote the instructions for the volunteers of the seven points, which still applies to many Internet resources. Given the changed situation since then, this instruction is outdated, moreover, indicated in her email address for communication has changed. So I wrote a revised and expanded instructions, which tried to answer all frequently asked questions Russian volunteers.
1. Sending the front
Main number of volunteers coming from the regions of Russia and from abroad, are forwarded to the Donbass continue through the Rostov-on-Don. If you have already taken a firm decision to join the militia, and you know the exact date of departure - write to mail juchkovsky@gmail.com, to get the contacts of our coordinators. On arrival in Rostov you communicate by getting contacts, go to the address for identification and waiting to be sent to the front as the complete group. Sending occurs on our official transport passage of the border. Volunteers are sent to different parts of the front, depending on the needs of fighters and experts. Suggestions for the entry into a certain division accounted for, but delivery to the place of its dislocation is not guaranteed (this depends on the situation at the front and the availability of transport), but the great complexity of movements in the territory of the republics is not always possible to get to "ride to 'somewhere running public transport.
2. Entry into the militia
We aim at Donbass adult men to take part in hostilities (periodically turning and women, but, with all due respect to their desire to help, we had to turn them away). You should have a passport and military ID. Experience in database and military service optional, the main requirement for the volunteers: 1) age 21 years of age, 2) the absence of serious diseases, and 3) good physical condition and endurance, 4) experience with small arms. You must first driver, operators combat vehicles (armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, tanks), gunners, signalmen. For we should not go if you are serving in the Armed Forces; You are in prison, on probation or have are wanted; have outstanding fines, debts on loans or child support and other reasons that do not allow you to leave the territory of the Russian Federation. Some people with these problems suggest that we are representatives of the state, and we can solve these problems. Unfortunately, it is not.
3. Combat training
At the moment, full of military training of volunteers in the DNI and LC no. The units of the relevant conditions are not everywhere, if you hit on a certain area in front of the quiet period, the time for preparation is, if intense fighting, then rely on the civic level of training (if not completely, it is better not yet come). Our volunteer training center located in St. Petersburg and is primarily intended for St. Petersburg. They can come and residents of other regions, but only if the group for study and submission is not equipped (for the period of employment from other cities can be accommodated in the center). After going through a brief but intensive course of military training, the volunteers are supplied with equipment and transport sent to the Donbass. Financial assistance to the organizers welcomed, but the course is free, transportation of equipment and also due to the center. To find out his contacts, write e juchkovsky@gmail.com.
4. Duration of stay
"Iron" duration of stay in the army there, but the entry is possible only on a more or less long term, a minimum of three months, with a request to "make war" on vacation should not be treated. All questions about the continued stay, vacation or final departure solved with the command of the field. "Dashes" to other units are not welcome, unauthorized departure is considered desertion (which means severe sanctions). recommended volunteers stay for a minimum of 3 months
5. The supply of volunteers
Many volunteers come to Rostov without uniforms and without even basic household supplies, believing that they will provide everything you need at the front. In fact, the front is experiencing a chronic shortage of supply. We therefore call on all arrivals to acquire all of its own. Yes, we occasionally buy equipment, but it is primarily intended for the militia of Donbass, who in war zero financial opportunities. In the case of the Russian volunteers, we proceed from the fact that living in peace-bodied men in a position to provide themselves with everything necessary.
6. What to bring
Your physical condition, health and even lives will depend largely on how you are "packed" - especially uniforms and medicines. Of course, not everyone can afford the expensive ammunition (a good vest, broneshlem, accessories for weapons), but it is first necessary to bring: personal household accessories, underwear, camouflage, ankle boots, Vest, reserve socks, gloves, knife, jar helmet. If funds permit, it is desirable to take the second set of uniforms: the shape and especially the shoes wear out quickly. From medicines: PPI, Water disinfecting filters, activated carbon, aspirin, band-aid, chlorhexidine, teas for colds (Theraflu, etc.), Pasta Teymurova (leg), needles, anesthetic injections (eg. Ketanol). First-aid kit with a set of necessary medicines can be purchased at convenience stores for adventure tourism.
7. Communication
Reliable communication often plays a key role in the success of a military operation and preservation of the life of men. This question is important not only for the commanders and professional communicators, but also for each fighter. If you can afford it, buy more of the same two-way radios with long battery life. As for mobile phones - forget about ephemeral smartphones take shockproof phones with enhanced battery for two SIM cards. On arrival at the Donbass get the opportunity (in all large cities, it is there) to buy a SIM card major operators (MTS, Kyivstar and Live). When appropriate financial opportunities buy a satellite phone connection and pay for several months, then you will not be dependent on any operator; in a critical situation, it will be very helpful to you and your comrades and commanders. it is strongly recommended you learn at least some russian as it is primary language used in NAF as there is a number of germans, spanish ,french, polish volunteers NAF can accommodate some of the language issues but please make an effort.
8. Financial expenses
Often, volunteers are asked to pay their way to the border. Unfortunately, we have no way to pay for everyone.Therefore, regardless of the distance the way to Rostov, you have to get on their own. Further, no payments from you no one will require. Avoid "recruiters" that promise you smelters and "device" in the militia for the money (there are scammers). Leave yourself some margin money for unforeseen expenses and return journey (even if you come for a long time); please be aware that in the territory of war banks, ATMs and money orders are not working, so get funds from "mainland" will be difficult. Money is advisable to keep in different currencies (RUB, UAH, US dollars). it is recommended you have at least $1000 {ideally 3k} note of caution like every country there chancers do not hand over any of your money to anyone claiming to be "recruiters" or for fees can guarantee admission to NAF it is entirely up to NAF commanders if they accept you and will not ask you for admission fees. Tell NAF if you have previous military experience although non military background candidates are welcomed too such as truck drivers, media exp, computer exp, social media exp, medical trained, diesel mechanics, weather you are ex-infantry or a weekend paintballer please DO NOT bullshit with stolen valor type stories as you will put yours and others lives in danger. NAF can work with or provide some training if required
9. Payments militia
A certain percentage of people willing to come to the war not because of ideological reasons, and in search of work.If you are one of those people, then you are applying "to the wrong address." Despite what you may of heard the russian government {or russian mod} does not pay for "putins mercenaries" However, many people who want to join the militia, want to receive salaries to support their families. That desire is true, but at the moment difficult to implement - and occasional payments relate primarily to local militias, but far from all divisions. The armed forces of New Russia is still far from full military compounds in which adjusted supply and wages are paid; now it's only volunteer corps, in which people go out of ideological considerations. So if you are the sole breadwinner in the family and fear that it will remain without a livelihood, while refrain from going to the front. Perhaps later the situation will change for the better.
RECOMMENDED KIT TO BRING
>socks 10-15 pairs
>briefs 10-15 set
>vests/tshirts
>combat fatigues 2 sets recommended
>good quality comfortable hiking/military boots {they will be on your feet so choose wisely}
>personal hygiene gear {soaps etc} nail clippers, foot care products for blisters :}
>creams or ointments for chaffing or other minor cuts for your own use
>also consider cold weather clothing as winter is soon approaching {yes it will very cold}
>non military clothing/footwear etc
also consider assault rifle-scope with a rail {ideally purchased in russia}
WE DO NOT ACCEPT PEOPLE WHO COME HERE THROUGH THE UKRAINIAN LINES. THEY MUST COME THROUGH ROSTOV. We do not trust people who come from the Ukrop side, whether ‘volunteers’, ‘journalists’ or ‘tourists’. We expect people to come from the Russian side with visas containing two entry permits.
The Russian visa process can be daunting and somewhat expensive. You have to pay around $300 or $400 to get your visa expedited. It is not cheap, but it is worth it. A one-way ticket is sufficient to get here, but it would be foolish for someone not to have enough money for a return trip if needed.
Volunteers generally fly to Moscow and then take a train or plane to Rostov-on-Don. From there they get a bus to Donetsk. Crossing the border from Russia into Novorussia is not a problem. We tell people to tell the border guards they are going to Donetsk to visit friends. They know what is meant, and let people through.
